Jamie Fly is Executive Director of the Foreign Policy Initiative, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization in Washington, D.C. Previously, he worked in the executive branch, both at the National Security Council as Director for Counterproliferation Strategy, and in the Office of the Secretary of Defense as Assistant for Nonproliferation Policy and Assistant for Transnational Threats Policy, where he was awarded the Office of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Public Service. <br /> <br /> Mr. Fly has also held positions as a Research Analyst at the Republican National Committee and Research Associate for the Council on Foreign Relations. He is a regular contributor to the Weekly Standard blog, and has been published in Commentary, The Weekly Standard, Forbes.com, USnews.com, Politico, and National Review Online. He is a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies and a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations. <br /> <br /> Mr. Fly holds a B.A. in International Studies and Political Science from American University, and an M.A. in German and European Studies from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service.
