Joseph T. Kelliher was appointed by President George W. Bush to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), where he served for more than 5 years, including as chairman during 2005-2009. Mr. Kelliher was one of the drafters of the National Energy Strategy, the energy policy that guided the Bush administration for 8 years. Mr. Kelliher also served as a senior energy policy advisor to Secretary of Energy Spencer Abraham, a congressional aide to Republican congressmen, and a Republican majority counsel to the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Currently, Mr. Kelliher is a senior executive with NextEra Energy, Inc., one of the largest U.S. electricity companies.
