Executive Director, Shuchinta FoundationMohammad Ali Arafat, a faculty member at Independent University's School of Business in Bangladesh, focuses his academic research on topics of vital interest to the growth of Bangladesh's economy: the corporate debt policy of small businesses, the formation of optimal capital structure, the connection between GDP, transit and connectivity and the development of small and medium-sized businesses in his country. His academic publications include a study of employee job satisfaction in Bangladesh's textile industry. He received advanced business degrees at Prairie View A&M University and Oklahoma State University. He is also the executive director of the Shuchinta Foundation, a social advocacy organization that taps the spirit of Bangladesh's 1971 War of Liberation to eradicate poverty and spur development via entrepreneurship and self-determination. In line with this goal, the Foundation spreads awareness of Bangladesh's International Crimes Tribunal, which seeks to bring justice to the war's victims.
