CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — President Hugo Chavez has indefinitely suspended rolling blackouts in Venezuela’s capital and sacked his electricity minister.

Chavez told state television late Wednesday that there were mistakes in the way the energy rationing plan was applied in Caracas. He said he asked Electricity Minister Angel Rodriguez to resign.

Chavez said he ordered the rolling blackouts suspended in Caracas immediately.
