Washington state officials use Krispy Kremes to entice a bear

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife has an unusual strategy for baiting a bear: Krispy Kreme doughnuts. The young bear, estimated at 70 or 80 pounds, has been raiding garbage cans in Bellevue, Washington. Officials hope to capture the bear and relocate it to the mountains.

Enter Krispy Kreme. The doughnut company, who does not usually ship their baked goods, stating, “We would not want our customers to receive inferior doughnuts,” made an exception for the bear case. Apparently they don’t feel that the bear has a very delicate palate.
