VIRGINIA BEACH — Police in Virginia Beach are trying to identify a man suspected of stealing more than $300 worth of cigarettes from a convenience store.

Investigators have released a security image from the 7-Eleven store in the 220 block of Red Tide Road, hoping that the public can help identify the man in the photo. Police spokesman Adam Bernstein said that on Nov. 26, the man entered the stockroom, concealed multiple cartons of cigarettes in his clothing and departed the store. The cigarettes were valued at more than $300, which makes the theft a larceny.

Bernstein said the same man is suspected in a similar robbery on Aug. 16 at the 7-Eleven on Lynn Shores Drive, also totaling more than $300 worth of cigarettes.
