Fox News host Bill O’Reilly applauded pop sensation Lady Gaga during his Tuesday show for mouthing off to David Letterman.

O’Reilly dubbed the singer a patriot based on her recent appearance on Letterman’s late night program, where the Grammy Award winner seemed angry that Letterman addressed a rumor that she’d consumed a Barbie doll head in the middle of her concert. Lady Gaga answered that she had indeed scarfed down the toy, but didn’t appear interested in sharing details on the story.

“Yes, [I eat Barbie heads] all the time,” Lady Gaga said.

“No that’s not true,” Letterman responded.

“That is true, why are you asking me these [questions]?” Lady Gaga said, proceeding to grab Letterman’s sheet of paper, roll it into a ball, and chew on it.

“I’m just so fed up with all of it,” the pop artist responded, munching away.

After showing a clip from the incident, O’Reilly said, “I think Lady Gaga is a patriot for eating Dave’s note cards. I wish I had thought of that when I was on the Letterman program. I would have done that.”

“There is a reason” for Lady Gaga’s success, O’Reilly said, adding that his upcoming newspaper column will explain why the “Monster” singer has done so well career-wise.

Lady Gaga’s album, “Born This Way,” was released in full this week and is available for $0.99 on Amazon.
