It happened literally 5 minutes ago. Hands still trembling. Whole building was shaking for like 30 seconds. Limped over to stand in the doorway until it passed. Now scanning Twitter, looks like NYC and North Carolina got it too. 5.8, epicenter in VA, 87 miles from here. The Capitol and Pentagon are being evacuated. Local news is saying there may be aftershocks.
Well, looks like everything’s still standing. Maybe somebody’s trying to tell us something…

Update: I’m hearing from people in Dayton and Detroit who felt it.
Update: DC Metro is still running, but at half-speed. All the escalators are broken, as usual.
Update: Now they’re saying the Pentagon wasn’t actually evacuated, just people hustling out of there because, y’know, WTF.
Update: Damn, it went all the way out to Indianapolis. Hello to everybody back home. Wish we had something more pleasant to share…
Update: The Leaning Monument of Washington?
Update: Obama’s approval rating has just been upgraded from 5.8 to 6.0.
