Obama’s birthday is coming up next week. Yay! But if you were thinking about getting him some panicky, narcissistic self-pity, he’s already got plenty. Here’s his latest fundraising e-mail:

My upcoming birthday next week could be the last one I celebrate as President of the United States, but that’s not up to me — it’s up to you.

This July deadline is our most urgent yet, coming after two consecutive months of being significantly outraised by Romney and the Republicans.

And if you pitch in $3 or whatever you can before midnight tonight, you and a guest will be automatically entered to join me at my birthday get-together next month:

This guy is the leader of the free world, and he’s throwing himself a pity party because he thinks he’s going to lose. “This could be my last birthday as president. After this, I’ll never have such an efficient apparatus for narcissistic supply. Poor me. Please feed my ego while you still can!” Just think, you might win a chance to go worship him. Just don’t forget to bring a present. Perhaps an iPod filled with his speeches, like the one he gave to Queen Elizabeth.

In related news, the other day Obama had a “random” sit-down with some veterans in an Oregon diner. You know, one of those “unscheduled stops.” Just hangin’ out and shootin’ the $#!+ with some regular joes. Which was weird, because the vets he posed with weren’t regulars at that place, one of them was a volunteer for Obama, and the campaign just happened to have their complete bios on hand for the press. Almost like the whole thing was stage-managed. Almost like yet another phony photo op with the military.

I wonder if Barry makes himself believe it’s all real?

At this point, it’s no surprise that he doesn’t see how he comes off to us Earthlings. What I can’t understand is why nobody in his campaign raises a red flag about stuff like this. From the giant Greek columns and fake presidential seal… to transforming the White House Correspondents’ Dinner from a night of self-deprecating fun into yet another platform for dishonest, mean-spirited shots at his opponents… all the way up to this nonsense. They really don’t see how pathetic it all is, this singleminded self-deification. The campaign keeps getting worse and worse for them, yet they keep doing the same transparently stupid crap. They keep boosting his ego, no matter how ridiculous it looks.

They keep proving that Obama doesn’t care how badly he screws everything up for the rest of us, how obvious his lies are, as long as he can still hear the applause.
