New Yorkers gave Democrat Bill de Blasio a big endorsement Tuesday night, overwhelmingly electing him mayor and putting Detroit on notice that its reign as America’s most blighted major city would soon be challenged.
As media outlets declared the Sandinista-loving candidate the next mayor of New York, conservatives and liberals alike took to Twitter under the hashtag #deblasiosnewyork to imagine what life de Blasio’s socialist utopia might be like.
