Lis Smith out as Mayor de Blasio’s flak

Maybe now the collective Fourth Estate can finally exhale. Lis Smith, the newly outed girlfriend of former New York Gov. and Mayflower Hotel regular Eliot Spitzer, is no longer working in the press shop of New York Mayor Bill de Blasio. CapitalNY reported the news this morning.

Smith, at least by all appearances, is taking the gracious route.

And maybe she’s even giving it back to the media who has, fairly or not, treated her pretty mercilessly in the past few weeks.
