Following the release of Rice, now a free agent, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has suspended Rice indefinitely.
Rice was eligible to rejoin the Ravens on Friday following Week Two’s home match-up with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was set to return the following week from his slap-on-the-wrist two-game suspension.

In response to the admittedly-light initial suspension, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell instituted a six-game suspension for first-time offenders of domestic violence, and a lifetime ban for a second offense.
