The sports world lost one of the good ones on Sunday.
ESPN announced that longtime anchor Stuart Scott had lost his seven-year battle with cancer at the age of 49.
Known for his distinct style and signature catchphrases, Scott was a favorite among both viewers and his peers. While ESPN paid homage to Scott all throughout the day, “SportsCenter’s” Sunday night tribute was particularly stirring.

“There is a tendency, at this moment, to be greedy. We all want more Stuart Scott. Instead, we have to settle for, and be happy with the time we had with him.”
I’m not a huge fan of what ESPN has become, but Stuart Scott is one of the reasons I do what I do today. I remember playing basketball in my neighborhood and little league in my town, and often enough, it would be Stuart’s voice narrating plays in my head.
“Datoc from 3 … BOOYAH!”
R.I.P. Stuart Scott. You will be missed.
