If you’re in need of some sound barrier-breaking adrenaline to get you over the midweek hump, check out this latest video of U.S. Navy F/A-18s in action.
The footage compilation captured via GoPro cameras is just a teaser for an upcoming full-length video documenting the VFA-27 “Royal Maces” Strike-Fighter Squadron in Japan, where they’re attached to the USS George Washington, according to The Aviationist.
Highlights include dogfighting, a bomb delivery viewed through a sensor pod, night missions and gun strafing with a nose-mounted gatling-style gun, which creates an FTL effect that looks like a scene out of Star Wars (2:16).
