It’s the Monday before March Madness, which means the NCAA is about to have another billion dollar pay-day.
The NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament generates more revenue than the Super Bowl — and almost more than the entire NFL playoffs combined — and TV funny man John Oliver has a serious problem with that.
Oliver doesn’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with profiting off of sports events, but he has a serious beef with multi-billion dollar corporations that refuse to pay their employees.
On Sunday’s episode of “Last Week Tonight,” Oliver blasted the NCAA, and though our opinions don’t usually coincide, he made some excellent points throughout his 20-minute rant.
Well said, John. Well said.
