A man was reported dead Sunday in Walled Lake, Mich., after a firecracker exploded next to his head.
The victim, reported to be around 40 years old, apparently had put a large firecracker next to his head. The man had assumed the firecracker was not lit.
The explosion killed him instantly, according to WDIV-TV.
