Lena Dunham no longer runs her own Twitter account because she was bullied too much.
“I don’t look at Twitter anymore,” Dunham said during an interview with Recode Monday. “I tweet, but I do it through someone else.”
“I don’t even know my Twitter password, which may make me seem like I’m no longer a sort of genuine community user.” (RELATED: Hillary Clinton To Lena Dunham: ‘I’m Puzzled When Women Aren’t Feminists’)
“I really appreciate that anybody follows me at all, and so I didn’t want to cut off my relationship to it completely, but it really, truly wasn’t a safe space for me.”

Dunham said she was also criticized after she posted a photo of her wearing nothing but her boyfriend’s underwear on Instagram.
“It wasn’t a graphic picture. I was wearing men’s boxers and it turned into the most rabid, disgusting debate about women’s bodies, and my Instagram page was somehow the hub for misogynists for the afternoon.” (RELATED: Lena Dunham Bashes Bieber Because She Thinks His Latest Song Is About Consent)

“That’s verbal abuse. Those aren’t words that should be directed at you ever. And so, for me personally, it was safer to stop.” (PHOTOS: Lena Dunham Feels ‘Chubby’ Standing Next To Three Supermodels And Taylor Swift)
