U.S National Team soccer star Abby Wambach says the reason to vote for Hillary Clinton is so that a “10-year-old girl can look up and see a woman in the Oval Office, see somebody that looks like them, see somebody that they could envision themselves being like.”

Friday on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” while campaigning for Clinton in New Hampshire, Wambach said, “I just think about that 10-year-old girl and I want her to be able to have that opportunity to look up and to see the most powerful person on the planet and in fact, being her gender.” (RELATED: Hillary Clinton Can’t Name A Top Accomplishment While Secretary Of State [VIDEO])

Mitchell asked Wambach, “Abby, what do you think is Hillary Clinton’s problem amongst many younger women who are gravitating to Bernie Sanders, not to Hillary Clinton, and what is your message to them about Hillary Clinton as someone who should be relevant to them?”

“Well, I think when you think about 10-year-old girls looking up and trying to figure out what they want to do with their life, I like to think that, that 10-year-old girl can look up and see a woman in the Oval Office, see somebody that looks like them, see somebody that they could envision themselves being like,” she claimed.

“That’s such passion, that’s such motivation for me, and clearly, that’s not the only reason why I want Hillary to be in office, but I just think about that 10-year-old girl and I want her to be able to have that opportunity to look up and to see the most powerful person on the planet and in fact, being her gender.”
