Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump blasted the NFL at a Sunday rally in Reno, Nev.

“What the hell, it’s a Sunday? Nobody wants to watch these crummy games,” the real estate mogul told the crowd of 2,000. “They just want to watch the end.”

Trump also compared the league’s focus on player safety — and tightening of the rules pertaining to illegal hits — to the current makeup of the country, the Reno Gazette-Journal reports.

“They’ll say ‘Oh isn’t that terrible,’ but football has become soft like our country, folks. The outcome of games have been changed by what used to be phenomenal, phenomenal stuff.”

Trump also turned his ire upon league zebras, noting that referees “want to all throw flags so their wife sees them at home. ‘Oh there’s my husband. He just gave a 15-yard penalty on one of the most beautiful tackles made this year.’ It’s boring.”
