Most, but not all 2016 presidential candidates were live-tweeting President Barack Obama’s final State of the Union address. Some candidates took issue with the president’s declarations, others his style, while others agreed with what they heard.
Below is a sampling of the best from those who tweeted reactions during the speech.
The #SOTU speech is really boring, slow, lethargic – very hard to watch!

Of the other candidates, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and business woman Carly Fiorina did not tweet during the speech. Senators Marco Rubio and Bernie Sanders were in the House Chamber and unable to tweet during the speech. Ohio Governor John Kasich’s campaign was simply tweeting links to his website as issues arose. And Senator Ted Cruz reserved his reaction for NBC News.
Will give reaction to #SOTU with @NBCNews' @LesterHoltNBC tonight. Tune in!
