Rapper Killer Mike, who has endorsed Bernie Sanders and appeared in the “spin room” for the senator Sunday night after the Democratic debate, told a reporter that he ended up supporting Sanders after “smoking a joint and reading his tweets.”
Killer Mike, whose birth name is Michael Render, has been a vocal supporter of Bernie, hosting a six-part interview with Sanders and introducing the senator at an Atlanta event in November with 5,000 in attendance by saying, “After spending five hours with someone who has spent the last 50 years radically fighting for your rights and mine, I can tell you that am very proud tonight to announce the next president of the United States, Sen. Bernie Sanders.”
