Republican Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad told a group of reporters Tuesday that it “would be a big mistake for Iowa to support” Sen. [crscore]Ted Cruz[/crscore] at the state’s upcoming Republican caucus.
Branstad — speaking at the Iowa Renewable Fuels Summit — stated that Cruz “hasn’t supported renewable fuels” and that he hopes he’ll be defeated, reports the Des Moines Register.
“He is the biggest opponent of renewable fuels,” Branstad continued. “He’s heavily financed by Big Oil. So we think once Iowans realize that fact, they might find other things attractive but he could be very damaging to our state.”

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump noticed Branstad’s remarks and praised him on Twitter.
Wow, the highly respected Governor of Iowa just stated that "Ted Cruz must be defeated." Big shoker! People do not like Ted.
