Nikolaj Ehlers of the Winnipeg Jets took a puck directly to the face against the New York Islanders Thursday night.

The puck appeared to ricochet off a stick and strike Ehlers in the face, and the Danish-born forward instantly dropped to the ice. An Islanders’ player picked up the puck and scored, then the players around Ehlers quickly signaled for medical attention.
