In the face of poll numbers that indicate 57 percent of Americans do not trust Hillary Clinton, Robby Mook, her campaign manager says “this election will be about trust.”

In an interview with Yahoo News’s Katie Couric on Wednesday, Mook called the Clinton’s email issue a “pseudo-controversy.” (RELATED: Disgraced Clinton Donor Got $13M In State Dept Grants Under Hillary)

Couric asked Mook about Clinton’s trustworthiness issue. “I’m sure you’ve been asked this time and time again, but 57 percent of all voters say they don’t trust her, perhaps because, partially because of the email controversy and the ongoing FBI investigation. As this swirls around her, how do you effectively counter that perception.” (RELATED: Report: Feds Moving Forward With Plan To Interview Hillary In Email Investigation)

“Well, the Republicans, particularly the House Republicans, are you know trying to dust up this email pseudo-controversy,” Mook replied. (RELATED: Reports: Some Of Hillary Clinton’s Emails Are ‘Too Damaging’ To National Security To Release)

“So how do you fight that?” Couric asked.

“Well, because, actually I think this election will be about trust,” Mook said. “I think it’s about who voters can trust to fight on their side, make their life better, help them afford health care, help them afford college. That’s what this election will be about.” (RELATED: Hillary Clinton’s Emails Contain ‘Operational Intelligence’ That Put Lives At Risk)

Even her home state of New York does not find Clinton trustworthy. According to exit polls, 57 percent of voters, a number similar to other states view their former senator as trustworthy.
