Today is National Sea Monkey Day. You know, sea monkeys — those classic pets of childhood. What ever happened to sea monkeys? Do people still buy them? If not, why don’t they? Are people today just too busy with their iPads and their iPhones and their apps? It seems like kids have forgotten the simple pleasures over the years.

National Sea Monkey Day comes only once a year, and if we can’t reminisce about sea monkeys on National Sea Monkey Day, then when can we? May 16 is the perfect time to reflect on the fun little critters and maybe even share them with the next generation.

Historically, the best way to get sea monkeys was to send in an answer to the comic book ads. However, in 2016, you can celebrate sea monkeys through the modern convenience of Amazon Prime. You’re able to add these little guys to your family for only $11.38.
