With the Republican and Democratic conventions happening in the next two weeks, members of both sides of the spectrum are struggling to rally behind their candidates.

A Pew Research Center poll released earlier this month showed that only around 40 percent of both Democrats and Republicans are “satisfied” with their candidate for president.

The poll’s stark data compare poorly to recent years, with numbers coming in at the lowest voter satisfaction since 1992.

Undecided voters are also struggling to choose between the two candidates.

“Roughly four-in-ten voters (41%) say it is difficult to choose between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton because neither would make a good president — as high as at any point since 2000,” said the report.

Voter interest, however, is the highest since 1992, with 80 percent of registered voters saying that they have thought “quite a bit” about the election and another 74 percent saying “it really matters who wins this election.”

Clinton continues to lead Trump 43.8 to 40.6, according to Real Clear Politics’ polling average.
