A new report shows that in 2014 and 2015 alone, Border Patrol agents apprehended nearly 1,000 “terror-linked” individuals attempting to illegally enter the country.

According to data obtained through Freedom of Information Act requests by Breitbart News, agents stopped 916 immigrants originating from countries linked to terrorism, with 867 of those individuals coming directly from countries where ISIS “has launched attacks and carried out recruitment operations.”

Those countries include Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Yemen.

Agents apprehended 480 terror-linked illegals in 2015 and 454 in 2014, yet Breitbart notes that the total number of terror-linked illegals could be significantly higher.

Data obtained for 2014 only covered individuals apprehended at the US-Mexico border. Similarly, 2015’s data for the Northern and Coastal borders only covered four months.

Additionally, the rate of terror-linked individuals apprehended at the US-Mexico border has skyrocketed in recent years.

In 2011, 255 terror-linked illegals tried to cross the southern border, yet by 2015, that number had jumped to 462.
