Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton still has a national six-point lead, according to an NBC poll published Tuesday.
The NBC weekly tracking poll shows the presidential race is dead even with its Aug. 30 poll. Clinton earned 48 percent, compared to Trump’s 42 percent. Clinton still leads in the four-way poll, but only by four points — 41 to 37 percent.
Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson gained a point from the most recent poll, earning 14 percent — just one point shy of the 15 percent needed to enter the debate stage later this month. Green Party nominee Jill Stein fell one point, earning 4 percent.
Trump led Clinton with Southern voters, but by a small margin. Trump and Clinton were tied with Midwestern voters, but Clinton easily overtook Trump in the Northeast, as well as in Western states.
A CNN poll also released Tuesday showed Trump earned a national two percent lead. The CNN poll didn’t include Stein. Trump won Independent voters, earning 49 percent compared to Clinton’s 29 percent.
The NBC News/SurveyMonkey poll ran from Aug. 29 through Sept. 4, and included 32,226 registered voters in an online format. The poll carried an error estimate of 1 percentage points in either direction.
