A taxpayer-funded school district in Oklahoma is still generously paying a salary to a high school cheerleading coach who was arrested for allegedly engaging in a festival of touching with a 14-year-old male teen.

The cheerleading coach, 48-year-old Shelley Jo Duncan, also promised to provide the teen with oral sex while simultaneously consuming a cough drop, investigators say.

The revelation that Duncan is still receiving a salary came at a school board meeting last week, reports Oklahoma City NBC affiliate KFOR-TV.

For her fulltime job, Duncan is an English teacher at an alternative high school in Tishomingo, Oklahoma (pop.: 3,162).

The very busy woman is also a reserve officer at the local community college in town — and, by the way, married to Tishomingo Public Schools superintendent Kevin Duncan.

Agents with the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation arrested Duncan in mid-September in the alternative school parking lot.

Investigators began looking into Duncan’s extracurricular activities after the mother of the 14-year-old teen contacted Tishomingo police.

Investigators said the pair, separated in age by 34 years, used Snapchat to communicate — laboring under the apparent belief that their messages would disappear into the Internet ether forever.

In the course of the computer-recorded conversations between the star-crossed pair, the 48-year-old Tishomingo High School cheerleading coach described her plan to add excitement to a bout of oral sex by placing a cough drop in her mouth, police said.

“U have no idea what u mean to me,” Duncan typed to her teen paramour, according to a court affidavit obtained by KFOR. “I’m here for the rest of ur life.”

Other correspondence took a bizarre turn that would make Sigmund Freud blush.

“I’m glad you love your mom so much. One of the many reasons I love you,” Duncan wrote, according to the affidavit.

After the unidentified teen responded by describing his mother as his “world,” Duncan replied: “Probably the hottest thing u’ve ever said. Nothing hotter than a man that takes care of his mom.”

The teen told police that he and Duncan — a mother herself — engaged in a make-out session while watching a movie.

Duncan and the teen then kissed in a car, the teen told investigators — while Duncan’s daughter was sleeping inside the vehicle.

Tishomingo Public Schools superintendent Kevin Duncan — Shelley Jo Duncan’s husband — said that his wife is eligible to be paid while her criminal case and employee suspension are pending.

“The district has been instructed by legal counsel, per the Teacher Due Process Act governed by Oklahoma statute, that the teacher is entitled to compensation during her suspension,” Duncan announced to community taxpayers, according to KFOR.

Previously, a representative with the Oklahoma State Board of Education had stated that Shelley Jo Duncan had been suspended without pay because of the allegations.

Prior to her stint as an English teacher, Duncan worked as a state parole and probation officer. Before that, she was employed as a juvenile justice affairs specialist.

Duncan, who posted bail of $20,000 after her arrest, appears to be facing two charges: inappropriate contact with a child and lewd or indecent proposals or acts with a child under 16.

In the event she is convicted, she faces a prison term of up to 20 years.

Oklahoma is something of a hothouse for teacher-sex stories.

In 2014, Kalyn Thompson, a first-year high school English teacher at tiny Kellyville High School, was charged with charged with second-degree rape for allegedly having a series of sexual escapades with one of her male students. Police say the Thompson gave the unidentified student a stellar, 98-percent, straight ‘A’ grade after their relationship took off. He had been flunking English just the semester before.
