The Department Of Justice has foiled an alleged plot by three men to blow up an apartment building of Somali immigrants.

Curtis Allen, Gavin Wright and Patrick Eugene Stein allegedly planned to fill four vehicles with explosives and detonate them in front of the Kansas building, which houses about 120 Somali immigrants. They were arrested and charged Friday with conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction.

The men identified as “crusaders” and expressed anti-Muslim sentiment in communications about their plans, allegedly referring to Muslims as “cockroaches” and saying the country needs a “bloodbath” to “wake up.” The FBI was tipped off to the plot by one of the men’s girlfriends, who came forward after a fight between the two of them got physical.

All three men are in their late forties, and face life in prison if convicted.

Before deciding on the bomb attack, they allegedly considered a variety of attacks including murder, kidnapping, rape and arson. The simplest plan, according to Stein at one of their meetings, was to grab a gun and “start kicking in the doors of the Somali apartments, and kill them one by one.”

“If you’re a Muslim I’m going to enjoy shooting you in the head,” Stein allegedly added at another point in the conversation. “When we go on operations there’s no leaving anyone behind, even if it’s a one-year old, I’m serious. I guarantee you if I go on a mission those little f—— are going bye bye.”

The men are due to appear in court Monday.
