At the beginning of his 77-minute press conference on Thursday, President Donald Trump claimed that he had chalked up the most impressive Electoral College victory in the last 30 years.

“I guess it’s the biggest Electoral College win since Ronald Reagan,” Trump gloated.

Trump’s claim is extraordinarily false.

His 304 electoral votes have only outperformed George W. Bush during the last 30 years.

Bush received 286 electoral votes and 271 electoral votes in 2004 and 2000, respectively.

Every other president since Reagan — and including Reagan — has trounced Trump’s 304 electoral votes.

Barack Obama received 332 electoral votes and 365 electoral votes in 2012 and 2008, respectively.

Bill Clinton received 379 electoral votes and 370 electoral votes in 1996 and 1992, respectively.

George Bush received 426 electoral votes in 1988.

Trump came nowhere close to Reagan’s dominance. Reagan received 525 electoral votes and 489 electoral votes in 1984 and 1980, respectively.
