A closed-circuit video showed the assassination of known Putin critic and former Russian politician, Denis Voronenkov, and the grisly struggle between the assassin and Voronenkov’s bodyguard.
The video shows the former politician walking down the street in Kiev, Ukraine with his bodyguard in tow. Suddenly, a hooded man briskly walks up behind Voronenkov, apparently shooting him from behind. The bodyguard, who was reportedly assigned by the Ukrainian security services, falls to the ground and appears to struggle to find his weapon, allowing the assassin to continue to fire on the Voronenkov. The bodyguard eventually retrieved his weapon after several seconds, firing on the assassin.

The assassin and Voronenkov both died from their wounds. The bodyguard sustained injuries, but is reportedly survived the encounter.
