If a man can declare himself to be a woman, and we’re all expected to adjust our pronouns accordingly (and instantly) or else we’re bigots, then why can’t a white woman decide she’s actually black?

Bruce Jenner became famous 40 years ago for winning a race. His successor, Rachel Dolezal Nkechi Diallo, has become famous for winning on race. Chris Perez, NY Post:

While discussing her new memoir, “In Full Color: Finding My Place in a Black and White World,” the former NAACP leader said she believed there was “some similarity” between her and the transgender Olympic legend [Bruce Jenner].

“Well, I think a lot of people have drawn that parallel,” Dolezal Diallo told CNN anchor Michael Smerconish on Saturday, after he told her he thought they had a lot in common…

“Actually, race has been, to some extent, less biological than gender,” she said. “We’ve evolved into understanding that gender is not binary, it’s not even biological. But what strikes me as so odd is that race isn’t biological, either…I believe that the word transracial has become socially useful in describing racial fluidity and identity.”

Or: If Bruce Jenner can become a beautiful lady just by deciding to be one, why can’t a white woman become a black woman?

There is no logical rebuttal to this stance. If you accept Caitlyn Jenner’s “transition,” you must accept Ms. Diallo’s. Either they’re both the identity they now claim to be, or neither one is. If it’s bigoted to criticize one of them, then it’s bigoted to criticize the other.

If you insist on misracializing and deadnaming Ms. Diallo, you’re a bigot.
