Whoopi Goldberg freaked out on “The View” Monday after President Donald Trump proposed ending the daily White House press briefings.

“God knows I don’t want to do anything that hasten your departure from office,” Goldberg told the ladies on the panel. “Freedom of the press. It is our right as the people, whether we put you in there or not, you [Trump] can not hide from us.” (RELATED: Trump On Press Briefings: I’ll ‘Do It Myself'[VIDEO])

“You can’t hide,” she added. “It is illegal. You can not hide what you’re doing from us and you must keep us abreast. Whether you do it or Sean Spicer does it, somebody has to do it. And the reason they have to do it is because you don’t want people taking to the streets coming to get you.” (RELATED: Bill Maher Skewers Hillary Clinton For Returning To The Spotlight)

“So you need to let folks know what’s going on so they can then, as is their right say, ‘I don’t like this and here’s why. And here’s why we’re going to either impeach you or re-elect you,'” she continued. “You can not hide from the press it is our constitutional right.”

During the panel discussion, Goldberg aired a clip of the president’s appearance on Judge Jeanine Pirro’s Fox News show that aired Saturday night.

“Just don’t have [press briefings],” Trump said. “Unless I have ’em every two weeks and I do them myself, we don’t have ’em.”
