Vice President Mike Pence affirmed U.S. support for Israel and the U.S. embassy’s move to Jerusalem, during his address at the 2017 Christians United For Israel summit Monday.

Pence repeatedly affirmed President Donald Trump’s unwavering support of Israel, during the Christians United for Israel’s (CUFI) “A Night To Honor Israel.” He also promised Trump would move the U.S. embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

“And to the men and women of Christians United For Israel, this president hears you,” Pence said. “This president stands with you. And I promise you that the day will come when President Donald Trump moves the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. It is not a question of if. It is only when.”

Pence’s promise came hours after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s impassioned declaration that the embassies of the world in Israel must be moved to Jerusalem. (RELATED: Netanyahu Says Israel Has No Better Friends Than US Christian Zionists)

“The capitol of Israel is Jerusalem, and the embassies of the world should be in Jerusalem,” Netanyahu told the CUFI summit.

Trump promised to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, but signed a waiver to delay the move for six months on June 1. Whitehouse spokesman Sean Spicer said at the time that the delay did not negate Trump’s promise, but was done to buy time to successfully negotiate the Israeli-Palestinian peace deal, now corroborated by Pence’s Monday promise.

“Every person in this room has made the decision to be a defender of Israel, to fight against every form of anti-semitism, and to fight and crush every form of BDS now manifesting itself in America; to fight and expose the hypocrisy of the U.N., concerning the state of Israel,” John Hagee, the founder of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio said before introducing Pence. “The U.N. is a political brothel of 10-horned dictators who know nothing about human rights, who dedicate much of their time accusing Israel of human rights violations.”

Pence and Trump land squarely on the other end of the spectrum in the minds of CUFI members and other self declared Zionists.

“It’s really the greatest privilege of my life — to serve as Vice President to a President who cares so deeply for our most cherished ally,” Pence said. “And let me say with confidence to all who are gathered here, and to all who are watching, President Trump and I stand without apology today. We will stand without apology for Israel tomorrow. And President Donald Trump and I will stand with Israel always.”
