Celebrate National Hotdog Day With Hotdogs And Legs [SLIDESHOW]

July 19 is National Hotdog Day and what better way to celebrate it than to bring back the oh-so-classic question: are these photos of hotdogs or legs?

The thighs of some women look so remarkably similar to the greasy, processed American delight that people around the country made a point to make their legs look as hotdog-like as possible to try to fool others into thinking they were hotdogs on social media.

But before the hotdogs or legs conundrum, there was the question of if hotdogs qualified as sandwiches.

In 2015, the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council declared the hotdog could not be classified as a sandwich, despite USDA guidelines to what qualifies as a sandwich. By its regulations, a hotdog would indeed be considered a sandwich as “two slices of bread or the top and bottom sections of a bun that enclose meat or poultry.” They noted however, that this sandwich regulation was published prior to the coming about of the modern-day hotdog bun.

Let’s embrace the edible symbol of American pride with this compilation of hot dogs and legs.
