Fox News host Shepard Smith was clearly not thrilled when his Monday show fell at the same time a total solar eclipse was sweeping across the country.
While MSNBC and CNN had reporters in the total eclipse zones of the country telling viewers how awe-inspiring the eclipse was, Smith spent most of the broadcast mocking the country’s excitement.
“Wow, would you look at that!” Smith said, feigning excitement. “It’s a total eclipse of the sun!”
“Oh! The sun is coming back now,” he joked at the end of the eclipse in Oregon. “The sun is returning–Jalapenya!”
At one point, Smith used a piece of paper to cover his computer monitor, joking that he had made a “total eclipse of this monitor.”
Smith even noted that people on “the Twitter” wanted him to take “this more seriously,” but clearly that wasn’t going to happen.
