Matthew McConaughey teamed up with Wild Turkey and Butterball to make sure families across the town of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky get a turkey for Thanksgiving.

The actor and spokesman for the bourbon brand spent his 48th birthday delivering 4,500 turkeys, donated by Butterball, to families in the Kentucky town with the help of 250 other volunteers. Two videos posted by the “Dallas Buyer’s Club” star on Saturday have gone viral over the past couple of days, showing the generosity of brand and the Academy-Award winner in giving back to the local community.

“Thanksgiving, gratitude, we believe in our family that the more you’re thankful for, the more that you show gratification, the more that you’re gonna create in your life to be thankful for,” McConaughey says in one of the videos. “I think it’s kinda scientific and here’s kind of living proof of it right here this morning.” (RELATED: Mila Kunis’ Planned Parenthood Stunt Causes Jim Beam Boycott)

Wild Turkey brought McConaughey on as a spokesman and creative director in August 2016. So far the actor has seemed like a perfect representative for the bourbon brand, using his star power and down-to-earth attitude to bring people closer together.
