Ole Miss quarterback Shea Patterson is out the door and headed to the University of Michigan.
Patterson announced the news on his Twitter account Monday afternoon. He tweeted, “Thank you to the wonderful people, teammates and coaches at Ole Miss. It is a special place and I will always have great memories of my experience in Oxford. I am now excited to announce my commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at The University of Michigan. It’s time to go to work. #GoBlue.”

This really isn’t too surprising to anybody who has been paying attention. The writing was clearly on the wall. Ole Miss is drowning in turmoil, there were already rumors of this before the season, and it’s probably for the best all the way around.
Patterson’s arrival to Michigan instantly makes them a challenger in the Big 10. He’s an elite quarterback, has great speed and almost has a Manziel-like ability to create big plays out of nothing.
Now we’ll have to wait and see if Harbaugh can get him to fit into Big Ten football. If he does, then there’s no telling how far Michigan can go.
