White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders brushed off Hollywood celebrities’ plan to hold an alternative anti-Trump state of the union during a Tuesday interview on Fox News.
“Their message is one of negativity and frankly, I think a little bit of delusion,” Sanders said of the planned Hollywood event. “I think it’s another reminder on how out of touch Hollywood is but frankly I almost feel sorry for the people.”
“They are so focused on hating the president that they are missing all of the great things that are happening in this country, and I think that’s really sad for them and I think they are missing an opportunity to actually bring people together and show a better side of themselves instead.”
The “People’s State of the Union” will be held in New York City and is organized by personalities like Michael Moore, Whoopi Goldberg, and Alyssa Milano.
