Famed author Stephen King apparently thinks that MS-13 is a type of firearm as opposed to a murderous Latino gang.
Republican commentator Rick Wilson tweeted early Wednesday that people in Florida are “more likely to be killed…by an opioid overdose” than being murdered by MS-13.
You’re a hell of a lot more likely to be killed in FL by an opioid overdose than MS-13. But muh base.

After the school shooting that killed 17 people in Parkland, FL, Stephen King decided to respond to Wilson with an unintelligible tweet.
“Don’t tell that to the parents of the kids who got shot in Broward Country today, sport,” King wrote.
Don’t tell that to the parents of the kids who got shot in Broward County today, sport.

People immediately tried to figure out what King meant by his assertion. Some guessed that he thought Nikolas Cruz, the school shooter, was a member of MS-13, but most decided that King assumed MS-13 was a type of firearm.
I think Stephen King might have also thought Rick was talking about a gun rather than a gang.

The most worrying thing isn’t that Stephen King doesn’t know MS-13 isn’t a gun. But that 1k liked this tweet

Mr. King, this is a bad tweet. Context, sir. It had nothing to do with the shooting and was, in fact, pointing out the ridiculousness of Trump’s obsession with a street gang, MS-13, which is not a gun.

Your daily reminder that the vast majority of public figures (especially “strategists”) commenting on politics are full of shit:
Tweet 1: Rick Wilson makes a non-sequitur comparison between opioids and MS-13.
Tweet 2: Stephen King thinks MS-13 is a firearm. pic.twitter.com/hq9bp9xnQ4— James Hasson (@JamesHasson20) February 15, 2018
I think you misinterpreted: MS-13 is the gang Trump always points to to say immigrants are killers, not a type of gun.

Hey @StephenKing, you’re the expert. Are these the bullets used in an MS-13 gun? pic.twitter.com/B4H0cgm5kf
