Susan Sarandon Tries To Call Rangers-Penguins Game. It Didn’t Go Well At All [VIDEO]
Susan Sarandon’s appearance as a guest broadcaster on NBC Sports Network’s coverage of an NHL game Wednesday night completely bombed with the fans.
Her commentary mostly consisted of lots of moaning and repeatedly saying “ooh” and “woah,” according to the New York Daily News.
The 71-year-old actress stood rinkside, between the two team benches, alongside NBC analyst Pierre McGuire for the first period of the New York Rangers-Pittsburgh Penguins game.
“It’s really fast and it’s so much fun to see everybody close up,” Sarandon explained during a break. “In the beginning, the lights and everything, it was crazy. It was like being with the Rockettes, people going in and out — just crazy. I love it.”
Fans were less than pleased with her performance.
I’m trying to watch a hockey game. An NHL hockey game involving the two-time defending champion late in the regular season.
The very last thing I need is friggin Susan Sarandon telling me anything about it.

All this hysteria over Susan Sarandon doing color at a hockey game is literally the most fun I’ve add relating to hockey since I checked Gretzky’s precious noggin onto the ice in NHL ’93. #SusanSarandon

It was terrifying to click to see why “Susan Sarandon” was trending — but the anxiety quickly turned to WTF when I found out it’s because she’s doing color for an NHL game????

Listening to Pierre McGuire talk while Susan Sarandon keeps moaning into the mic is a form of torture.

Holy hell, @NBCSN The only thing that might make your experiment even remotely tolerable is if Susan Sarandon were in character as Annie Savoy.

Susan Sarandon sounds like me in any conversation that I don’t want to be in and am just humoring them.
