Gun control activist and popular rapper Vic Mensa challenged pro-NRA rapper Killer Mike to a debate on gun laws this weekend.
Vic Mensa, who performed at the March For Our Lives rally on Saturday, was arrested last year on gun charges. According to TMZ, Vic Mensa was arrested and charged in February for carrying a concealed weapon in his car. A second charge of carrying an unregistered and loaded firearm was later dropped.
But apparently Vic Mensa is ready to rise above his little run in with the law and lecture the rest of America on how to properly regulate their weapons.
On Saturday, Vic Mensa tweeted that he wanted to debate Killer Mike on gun laws.
“To @KillerMike : YOU DONT NEED AN AR-15,” he tweeted. “As a black man & fellow gun owner I would like to have a debate with you about your stances on gun-control.”

Killer Mike, who has been fielding criticism for days after a pro-gun interview he did with NRATV went viral, promptly responded.
“We got the same publicist and u have my phone number,” Killer Mike tweeted back. “I ain’t dodge’n u.”

It’s been over 48 hours and Vic Mensa has not responded to Killer Mike’s acceptance. He did, however, ask his Twitter followers if they knew “someone who builds studios in LA.”

We’ll continue to see if this debate ever happens but so far it looks like Killer Mike may have won this one.
