Insane Democrats Are The Best Thing Republicans Have Going For Them

On today’s episode of The Daily Daily Caller Podcast, we discuss President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw from the disastrous Iran deal, one of former President Barack Obama’s few foreign policy “legacy” accomplishments.

But it was an awful deal, giving Iran everything they wanted, including billions of dollars, on the promise they simply wait until years after Obama left office before building a nuclear bomb. They’ve been proven to be lying, but still liberals defend it in order to protect Obama’s legacy.

Isn’t it weird how Obama was silent when the Iranian people attempted to rise up against their tyrannical government during the so-called “Arab Spring”? He turned on our allies quickly, turned on governments that were no threat to the U.S., but was silent until it was too late when it came to Iran to protect the prospect of getting his deal. Trump said no more and liberals, in unison, clutched their pearls and the Iranian Parliament greeted the news by burning printouts of the American flag and chanting “Death to America.” Who wouldn’t trust people like that? (And why do many Iranian politicians carry around lighters? It’s almost like they want to be prepared just in case the opportunity to burn an American flag presents itself, or something.)

But Obama brought this on himself. By refusing to treat this as a treaty, Obama made it easy for any future president to end the deal. So desperate for anything he could spin as a foreign policy accomplishment, he ripped the treaty clause out of the Constitution and turned it on its head, with the help of Senators Ben Cardin, Democrat from Maryland, and Bob Corker, Republican from Tennessee. It helped drive Corker out of the Senate, as it should have.

The primaries last night did not live up to the hype, with none of them being the close races the media tried to hype them to be. Polling, it seems, hasn’t really improved since the failures of the 2016 election. But it did give us one moment of levity, when Mitch McConnell made a joke that was actually funny. Don Blankenship, a guy who managed to have negative energy, called McConnell “Cocaine Mitch” in an ad. McConnell responded to Blankenship’s distant third place finish by mocking that nickname.

Nancy Pelosi is the gift that keeps on giving. At an event yesterday, the would-be-Democratic Speaker of the House proudly admitted she wants to raise taxes on Americans. The best thing Republicans have going for them is the Democratic Party’s inability to act like sane people. They can’t help themselves because they are desperate to appease their radical fringe. Pelosi’s words should be run as a campaign ad from now til November.

Finally, President Trump scored another foreign policy victory today when it was announced that Secretary of Stated Pompeo left meetings in North Korea with the three Americans who had been held in prisons there. It’s yet another sign of good faith from Kim Jong-Un in the lead up to the meeting between him and President Trump. We can never know if it is sincere, but so far Trump has the despot making gestures unlike others his government has made in the past.
