Melania Trump praised Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Master Chief Slabinski Thursday and all members of the military who risk their “lives for our freedom.”
“Thank you Master Chief Slabinski for your heroic actions. @POTUS & I are proud to have you @WhiteHouse today to award the #MedalOfHonor. Trump has been recovering at the White House from surgery, following a week-long stay at Walter Reed National Medical Center to deal with a benign kidney condition.
Last week, the first lady’s spokeswoman said that Trump was “doing well and remains in good spirits” following the surgery.
“No new updates except she’s doing well and remains in good spirits,” Stephanie Grisham, the first lady’s communications director, told The Daily Caller.
“A sincere thank you to Walter Reed Medical Unit @WRBethesda & to all who have send good wishes & prayers! I am feeling great & look forward to getting back home @WhiteHouse soon,” Trump captioned her post on Instagram from the hospital, along with a photo that read simply “Thank You.”
