MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell asked Joy Reid — who has her own social media scandals — what it would take for someone to get fired over offensive posts Tuesday.

Mitchell addressed Roseanne Barr’s recent tweets about the Obama administration and Valerie Jarrett. “What do you have to do on social media to get fired from a top-rated show on an American broadcast network?”

Reid recently came under fire after her old blog posts surfaced that many dubbed “homophobic.” Despite those blog posts, MSNBC retained Reid as an anchor, and she continues to host the weekend show “AM Joy.” (RELATED: MSNBC Sticks By Host Joy Reid Despite Anti-Gay Blog Posts)

Following her controversial tweets, Barr tweeted, “I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans. I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste.”

She also tweeted that she will be leaving Twitter.

ABC cancelled Barr’s show Tuesday.
