Vice President Pence visited wounded veterans recovering at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Friday.

“Always an honor to spend time with our heroes recovering at @WRBethesda,” wrote Pence. “Thanks also to the great medical team who give America’s best to America’s best every day.”

Pence also visited wounded service members at Walter Reed and the USO Warrior and Family Center last November.

Pence is a longtime advocate for veterans and their families. Over Memorial Day weekend, the vice president welcomed 70 veteran bike riders to his home for the annual Project Hero bike ride.

“To be able to welcome you heroes here–all of you who’ve worn the uniform of the United States, and many of whom who’ve worn the uniform law enforcement and have worn in your own bodies and in your own minds the burdens that comes with that service,” Pence told the veterans last month. “To be able to welcome you here on this most hallowed of days is profoundly humbling to Karen and I. So I say to each one of you thank you for your service. You make this place better for you being here today and you honor us all.” (RELATED: Mike Pence Speaks To Veterans And Honors The Fallen During Memorial Day Speech)
