Democratic Socialist congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez hit the campaign trail with Bernie Sanders Friday in Kansas.
The two socialists will give speeches to hype left-wing candidates in Wichita and Kansas City over the weekend.
Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez are seen as the rising future of the Democratic party in spite of recent embarrassing interviews for Ocasio-Cortez. The New York candidate showed economic and geopolitical ignorance on a number of issues in a recent interview with Firing Line.
Ocasio-Cortez and Sanders were met with large crowds of progressives in Kansas but also a few protesters.
One man stood outside the arena where Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez were speaking with a MAGA hat on and a sign that told Sanders to go back to Venezuela. “Bernie Sanders socialist please move to Venezuela but don’t forget to bring your toilet paper,” the sign read. The man had a shirt on that read “Socialism Sucks.”

There were no reports of a confrontation with the man, but there are photos of the man getting confronted by the progressive crowd:

But the man did not stop the hero worship of newcomer Ocasio-Cortez:
