Conservative commentator Michelle Malkin took to Twitter on Tuesday to ask the media – specifically Time – whether they would be doing a special cover on the murder of Mollie Tibbetts like the one they did in June featuring a crying Honduran immigrant who was in actuality never separated from her family. “Mollie Tibbetts was violently, permanently separated from her family and now an immigration law-breaker is in custody,” Malkin tweeted. “Where’s the Time magazine cover?”
Mexican national Christian Bahena Rivera, 24, was charged Tuesday with first degree murder in the death of the Iowa college student.
Time suffered some blowback back in June when it was reported that Hondurans Sandra Sanchez was in fact never separated from her two-year-old daughter Yanela even after being captured trying to enter the United States illegally.
