The president and Sen. McCain have had a notoriously fraught relationship, with Trump infamously diminishing McCain’s military service during the 2016 presidential campaign — something Trump reportedly does not regret. (RELATED: President Trump Does Not Regret McCain ‘War Hero’ Comment)

McCain passed away on Saturday night at the age of 81 after a long battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer.
